Michael Kirby
Pastor
A graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry, Michael also attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and received a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology. He has served several churches in Tennessee and Louisiana. Michael met his wife, Heather, while they were in seminary. They have one son, Cameron, who is a joy to them and the church family.
Colossians 1:9-12, describes Michael and Heather's passion for the people of Corinth,
"For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. "May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints' inheritance in the light." Col 1:9-12 (HCSB)
This passage is so appropriate because it speaks of the four main areas necessary for Christian growth and life.
Knowledge: that we may know God and be able to understand His word
Walk: that we walk in what we know, taking God's Word to work, school, home, or at play
Power: realizing that we live in God's power not our own, making sure that everything we do (both at church or elsewhere) flows out of prayer and a deep sense of God's leadership
Joy: of all people we should have joy, a deep and abiding sense of God's presence, love, and care. This is a joy that can never be taken away!
It is our desire for you to experience God's love in a unique and amazing way. Please join us at Corinth where you will feel God's presence, experience the love and warmth of his people, and leave forever changed.
In Him,
Michael Kirby
