Michael Kirby

Pastor

A graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry, Michael also attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and received a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology. He has served several churches in Tennessee and Louisiana. Michael met his wife, Heather, while they were in seminary. They have one son, Cameron, who is a joy to them and the church family.

Colossians 1:9-12, describes Michael and Heather's passion for the people of Corinth,

"For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God.
"May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy
giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints' inheritance in the light."  Col 1:9-12 (HCSB)

This passage is so appropriate because it speaks of the four main areas necessary for Christian growth and life.

Knowledge: that we may know God and be able to understand His word

Walk: that we walk in what we know, taking God's Word to work, school, home, or at play

Power: realizing that we live in God's power not our own, making sure that everything we do (both at church or elsewhere) flows out of prayer and a deep sense of God's leadership

Joy: of all people we should have joy, a deep and abiding sense of God's presence, love, and care. This is a joy that can never be taken away!

Derek Moore
Minister of Music

Derek loves to help lead others in worshiping the true Christ through music.  His love for Christ and serving as a worship leader are very evident.  Worship is not just something that he does on Sundays and Wednesdays.  He constanly challenges us to worship Christ in our everyday lives with all that we have.

Derek has served in several churches through out the area.  Derek has been involved in music ministry since junior high school (that's right...there was no middle school when I went).  He as been serving as a Minister of Music for more than 17 years.  He and his wife, Amy, have been involved in the music ministry at Corinth for 5-plus years. 

Derek and Amy have two children, Leah and Benjamin.

Margie Reed
Minister of Children

Margie has a passion of sharing God's love with children. She directs the Wednesday Night AWANA program, leads the Sunday morning Children's Sermon, and coordinates a volunteer team each year to put on an awesome Vacation Bible School. Margie and her husband, Todd, have three (almost grown) children, Heather, Matt, and Jeremiah. Todd works with Margie in this ministry, and the kids are always ready when he comes around with the video camera. SMILE! It's great to be a part of Children's Ministry at Corinth.
